Official BSA Wheels and Axles Official BSA wheels and axles that have not been modified. These are for you if you just need a replacement set of wheels and axles for your car.	Matched Wheels If you would like to fine tune your own wheels then get a head start with these matched official BSA wheels. All four wheels are from the same mold and are not modified in any way. Axles not included	Stock Wheels and Axles Same dimensions as the official BSA wheels and axles but these high quality components don't require as much preparation as the BSA. Just file the crimp marks off of the axle head and you are all set. May not be legal in official BSA races.

All of our speed products now have a "Speed Rating". The number in the red arrow is the number of inches that were gained at the finish line by using this product on our test track. Our test track is only 28 feet long so you can expect a larger gain on typical 32' to 45' tracks. You can use this number to compare the relative speed advantages of our various products.

Lightly Sanded and Matched Pinewood Derby Wheels

These wheels are:

Lightly sanded to smooth the area around the mold mark
Lightly sanded to flatten high spots.
Some of the original surface remains. Tread marks are clearly visible
The inside rim of the wheel has been slightly smoothed to remove burrs.
All four wheels are from the same mold to match characteristics and improve performance.

Lathed and Matched Pinewood Derby Wheels

These wheels are:

Lathed just enough to make the wheel round within 0.001 inch and remove all bumps and other imperfections.
The inside edge of the wheel rim is smoothed.
Wheel hub is coned- One of the largest factors that limit the speed of your car is the friction caused by the wheel hub rubbing on the car body. By coning the hub, we reduce the wheel/body contact area by 95%, minimizing friction.
All four wheels are from the same mold to match characteristics and improve performance.

Graphite Coated Lathed and Matched Pinewood Derby Wheel

These wheels are the same as our Lathed and Matched wheels with the addition that graphite has been added to the four friction areas shown here. Our special process coats these areas with an even layer of high grade graphite. The graphite is bonded to the wheel so it will last many races. Our tests have shown no reduction in speed after more than 20 races! The areas of the wheel coated with graphite have a dark gray color that is close to but does not match the color of the wheel.

Pro Inertia Lite BSA Wheel

This official BSA wheel has been treated and machined so all dimensions are perfect and ready to race. All of the lettering and numbering inside has not been touched so these wheels will meet many Pack, District and Council Rules. In addition to all of the modifications of our lathed wheels, the hub is reamed straight and the inside of this wheel is totally re-worked with special tooling for the most possible weight removal but still retaining durability. This wheel is machined within a .0005” tolerance and only weighs 1.8 gram.

Pro Ultra Lite BSA Wheel

This is the ultimate BSA racing wheel where internal mods are not frowned on. Every area of this official BSA wheel has been treated and machined so all dimensions are perfect and ready to race. In addition to all of the modifications of our lathed wheels, the hub is reamed straight and the inside of this wheel is totally re-worked with special tooling for the most possible weight removal but still retaining durability. Precision Machined "SS" Wheel

This is a completely C.N.C. machined wheel to a “stock” dimension and features the same axle and hub as the “RS” wheel. Weight is 1.35g. Diameter is 1.200” for fast starts and the tread width is .300” like most stock molded wheels. It is WIRL approved and a perfect hi-performance replacement wheel where the rules are open to any wide tread wheel.

Small Diameter Axle "SSN" Wheel

Very similar to our SS Wheel but with a smaller diameter axle bore for greater speed. This wheel has a .035” diameter needle axle and a .040” hub bore. Set-up and alignment is tricky but you can expect to see a marked speed increase. over the standard “SS” wheel when aligned correctly. We recommend this wheel for experienced builders due to the small axle size and the small drills we ship with the sets (you will need to use a drill press to drill the axle holes). These are recommended to be run on NyOil due to the small axle size.

Performance wise, it is faster than anything on the market 1.2g and up.

Small Diameter Axle "RSN" Wheel

RS Pinewood Derby Wheel

This is our fastest wheel!
It holds the current track record on a 42” track @ 2.9070 sec.

Very similar to our RS Wheel but this wheel uses a needle axle (included) with a .035” diameter. Set-up and alignment is tricky but you can expect to see up to .0250 sec. increase over the standard “RS” wheel when aligned correctly. We recommend this wheel for experienced builders due to the small axle size and the small drill bits used (you will need to use a drill press to drill the axle holes). NyOil or other liquid lubricants are recommended for this wheel.

Taylor Grace won 1st place in her age division by a full second and a half! When she competed against the winners of each class she got 3rd place, but statistically she was also a 1st place winner. That is to say the statistical variation between each track (0.05seconds) was greater than the time difference between her car and the 2nd and 1st place finishers. We had a great time. We'll order some more wheels next year, thanks so much for all your help! ,,,Todd J

Tiger Cub Spencer crowned GRAND CHAMPION!
Spencer lost 1st round (agh!) but won the remaining 5 rounds. Then the top 3
Tiger Cubs raced for the championship as the Boy Scouts / Weblo's were kept
seperate. Spencer took the championship!
